Children's Museum

For Spring Break we weren't going any where as a family so I tried to do a couple of fun things until Theo got really sick. The first fun thing was simply getting ice cream cones at the store and going to the park. Simple, I know, but it felt special.
The next fun thing was going to a children's museum. The kids loved it. Theo was fascinated by all the animals, and all three kids loved the big gong. We had a great time.

Mowgli?

The GONG.

The museum had a craft room and they were doing paints that day.

Warren's birthday

All of boys celebrate their birthdays in April. For Warren's birthday we thought it would be fun to actually cover the cake with the right amount of candles-all 38 of them. Theo was once again enthralled with the candles and the balloons.
The kids love their daddy and I love my Warren. Happy Birthday! May this year be wonderful.

Theo's 1st birthday

For Theo's 1st Birthday we just celebrated by ourselves, with balloons and cake. It was a happy day.

Happy Easter!

As one of our pre-Easter activities we decorated Easter cookies using a technique I found here on my friend's blog. The kids loved it and were very intent on doing a good job. They love to paint, so this was perfect.

A mixture of everyone's cookies.

Fred's flower, the rest are mine.

Joseph's cookies!

I had a rough week last week for various health reasons (sick baby, sick mommy etc.). But in spite of, or maybe because of the struggles I've been going through I've felt especially tender about this Easter season and the gratitude I feel for my Savior. May you have a wonderful Easter Sunday. He is Risen!

A Family Lives Here

Since we have a baby at our house we have to keep little things off the floor. So, my dining room table frequently ends up covered in playmobiles and all their tiny little accessories. At times the mess drives me crazy, but I do enjoy seeing R and J playing together for hours with their little scenes. They're great friends and I'm so grateful for that.

This post is part of Queen Scarlett's "A family lives here" series. I love that lady and that her beautiful home is a family's home. She lets the kids LIVE and I admire her for that. I have been to her home. It is not chaotic. It's beautifully decorated and well taken care of. But it is not a museum where you're not allowed to touch anything, either. There are signs that children live and are loved there.

Happy Birthday Theo!

Talking on skype to family

You are my sunshine,
my smiling sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
Oh Dear, Sweet Theo,
I'll always love you.
I hope you have a grand 1st birthday.

Dear Theo,

during a difficult year for your mommy you have been a true ray of sunshine and source of smiles in my life. You have been an absolute joy and blessing to our family. You are adored by all, loved fiercely, protected and smothered by your brother and sister. You love to laugh and know you're funny. You communicate with ability beyond your age. You love music and dance when any kind of music comes on. You do a little tap dance with your feet that you think is funny, too. You clap and enjoy life. You love balls and balloons and your blankie and your baba.

Thank you for being so happy. Thank you for coming to our family. I can't imagine life without you.

Happy 1st Birthday. May there be many, many more.

With love and adoration,

Mommy

Conference weekend in Utah

Warren, my little brother Fred and I went to Saturday morning session in the Conference Center. It really is amazing to hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir up close and live. To the right of my head you can see my Uncle David.

On our last day in Utah after all the beautiful spring flowers we had been seeing, this is what we woke up to:

This is Joseph showing you that he is 4 today.

View of Salt Lake City taken from the airport.

Good bye Utah, we had fun. We're now returning to our "world" as Joseph puts it. We had a fun time visiting "Daddy's parents" (also a Joseph-ism).

About Me

My photo
I'm a woman who is trying to do her best each day of her life. I laugh, cry, make mistakes, create, make messes and clean. I love life and learning and staying in touch with family and friends. Every year I get to know myself better and how best to use my own strengths and weaknesses to navigate my path.
