A few weeks ago in a church lesson on Emergency Preparedness and Food Storage the teacher mentioned a website called Deals to Meals. I was intrigued because she said it helped her save money on her groceries and so I signed up. The basic premise is that it organizes the grocery store ads for you and helps you know if things are a better deal than stores like Costco or Walmart. It also helps you know when things are on super sale and how long those items can be stored for so you can build up your food storage when things are on sale. I've been enjoying it so far. With a new baby I don't have too much extra time on my hands, and I feel like this website has helped me quickly organize the sales with the touch of a button. I have been able to do one big shopping trip that sometimes lasts me almost two weeks (except for milk).
Another feature is the weekly recipe pages. They try to give you recipes using things that are on sale that week and also include recipes that use items you have in your food storage. I've tried some of their recipes already and they were a hit. So it's been fun.
The deals to meals blog website is also hosting a Bosch mixer giveaway this week. So go check it out! If you end up signing up this week, mention my name so I can get credit. I'll even bake you something if I win. Hee hee.

Pediatric Update
Thank you everyone for your concern. Joseph is doing fine, he's just sick and grumpy with a virus, which is what caused the fever. Apparently the most recent thoughts on these kinds of seizures are that there isn't anything you can do to prevent it, even giving tylenol sooner doesn't prevent the seizure. I want to do some research on this, but it appears that the main thing is to keep the child on their side during the seizure so their airways stay clear. It is more common than I realized. I had never heard of it before, but now that I have been telling people what happened I have had several people tell me it has happened to their child or to themselves as a child. There is a chance of it occurring again now that it has happened once. Of course I am nervous about it because it was no fun to watch, but I have to trust the information I have and my instincts and go from there. This website has more extensive information if you're interested. It's just a good thing to know about if you have kids or are a caregiver.
