One man's trash is another man's treasure.
For the first couple of weeks of school I gathered from Rebecca that she spent most of recess walking around by herself. One day I found all of the above items in her backpack front pocket. I asked: "What is this stuff?"
R: "Oh, those are my treasures. I like to collect treasures."
Today I asked her, "what makes something a treasure and not trash?"
She replied, "if it is beautiful to you it is a treasure. Like you are beautiful to me, so you are my treasure."
Melt my heart. You can collect treasures all you want. But I do hope you make some friends.

Oh, sweet girl! I hope she finds some friends to play with too! Sweet post, though.
I just love your little girl. Children teaches us so much. I will share a little about me. I remember when I started 2nd grade that I could not find friends that I clicked with me at the beginning of the year so I stood all by myself in the corner watching the other kids at recess. It took me about a month, but I found some girls that I got along with and that was the end of me being by myself. Your little sweet girl will find friends soon, it is inevitable.

as expected, your sweet and serious baby girl is growing up to be a thoughtful and wise little lady. what a gift to see beauty in all those items ... and how smart to see it in her mom!!
Love this post.
