A few weeks ago I decided to follow one of my friend's examples and read "Charlotte's Web" to my daughter. I had only gotten to the second page or so when Rebecca said: "Fern? What kind of a name is Fern? I want to call her something else." So after a moments contemplation she decided on renaming Fern "Elizabeth." Okay, I can try to remember that. A couple pages later and Wilbur the pig is born. Rebecca: "Wilbur? I don't like that name. Can we call him Rose?"
Try reading "Charlotte's Web" out loud and substituting Elizabeth for every Fern, and Rose for every Wilbur. It's not that easy.
Some daughter.
